Me llamo Anastasia Mouchan, soy una acuarelista, retratista que ahora vive en Antalya, Turquía. Y si se preguntara quién es Anastasia Mouchan, la respuesta más probable sería: «Una acuarelista que pinta a su hija».  Al fin y al cabo, me hice reconocible gracias a los retratos de la rubia «princesa de la acuarela».

La fuente de mi inspiración es la infancia, una sensación maravillosa y mágica del mundo. Nací en Bielorrusia y cambié de vida tras 10 años de trabajo como diseñadora gráfica. Con el nacimiento de mi hija, mi pasión por las acuarelas empezó a crecer.

«Estas acuarelas están «llenas de luz», son suaves y poéticas», así me comentan mis suscriptores, los visitantes de las exposiciones y los compradores de mis acuarelas. El año pasado mis acuarelas aparecieron en las portadas de las revistas de acuarela (Pratique des Arts / especial acuarela N27 y la revista International Watercolor N13), fui invitada especial en los festivales de acuarela de todo el mundo, me convertí en miembro de IMWA International Masters of Watercolour Alliance. Próximamente voy a participar en los festivales de acuarela en Francia, Grecia y Turquía, para impartir talleres. He desarrollado mi propio estilo y mi propia técnica de acuarela. Lo que me enorgullece es que puedo inspirar a otros artistas.

Mi hija es mi musa. Ella está creciendo, y al mismo tiempo yo estoy creciendo como artista. Al retratarla, no estoy actuando literalmente.  Lo que hago no es sólo copiar una foto, sino utilizar la imagen de mi hija para reflejar mis sentimientos y experiencias.

Como escriben los críticos, soy una «cantante de la luz». La luz desempeña un papel importante en mis acuarelas. Dibujo sin un boceto a lápiz, así que sigo la luz, creo una composición, esculpo gradualmente la forma. No es sólo el objeto que veo en el lienzo, sino también la poesía de las pinceladas. Espacios oscuros y blancos: todo importa en mis acuarelas. A veces no sé exactamente lo que voy a conseguir hasta que la acuarela está terminada.

My name is Anastasia Mouchan, I am a watercolor artist, portrait painter now living at Antalya Turkey. And If you asked who is Anastasia Mouchan, the most likely answer would be “A watercolorist who paints her daughter.”  After all, I became recognizable thanks to the portraits of the blonde «watercolor princess». 

The source of my inspiration is childhood, a wonderful and magical feeling of the world. I was born in Belarus and I changed my life after 10 years of working as a graphic designer. With the birth of my daughter, my passion for watercolors began to grow.

«These watercolors are «full of light», gentle and poetic,» I receive such feedback from my subscribers, exhibitions visitors and buyers of my watercolors. Last year my watercolors appeared on the covers of watercolor magazines (Pratique des Arts / special aquarelle N27 and International Watercolor magazine N13), I was invited as a special guest at watercolor festivals around the world, I became a member of IMWA International Masters of Watercolour Alliance. Nearest time I’m going to take part at the watercolour festivals in France, Greece and Turkey, to run workshops. I have developed my own style and my own watercolor technique. What I’m proud of is that I can inspire other artists.

My daughter is my muse. She is growing, and at the same time I am growing as an artist. By portraying her, I’m not acting literally.  What I’m doing is not just copying a photo, but also using my daughter’s image to reflect my feelings and experiences.

As critics write – I am a “singer of light». Light plays a big role in my watercolors. I draw without a pencil sketch, so I follow the light, create a composition, gradually sculpt the shape. This is not only the object I see on the canvas, but also the poetry of brush strokes. Dark and white spaces – everything matters in my watercolors. Sometimes I don’t know exactly what I’ll get until the watercolor is done.
