Anna Velichanskaya

Nací en Rusia en 1980 y emigré a Israel cuando tenía 16 años. Me gradué en la Academia de Arte y Diseño Bezalel de Jerusalén en 2005. En 2008 retomé los estudios de Historia del Arte en la Universidad de Tel Aviv.
Nací casi ciega; quizá por ello, mi sensibilidad para las luces y las sombras. Tras muchos años de tratamiento, mi visión mejoró y entonces pude captar el mundo en sus pequeños detalles. La falta de visión, por un lado, me llevó a una técnica de dibujo y pintura muy precisa y limpia, pero por otro lado, llena de imaginación.

Anna Velichanskaya

I was born in Russia in 1980 and immigrated to Israel when I was 16 years old. I graduated from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem in 2005. In 2008 I resumed the studies of Art History at the Tel Aviv University.
I was born almost blind; perhaps, this was the reason for my sensitivity for lights and shadows. After many years of treatment my vision became better and I could then capture the world in its small details. The lack of vision on the one hand brought me in to a very precise, clean way of drawing and painting technique, but on the other way it is full of imagination.
Today I teach goldsmithing and jewelry making
