Batur Baslar nació en Ankara, Turquía en 1967. Tras obtener su Grado Superior en Música del Conservatorio Estatal de la Universidad de Hacettepe en 1990 se trasladó a Inglaterra donde estudió el Grado en Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Mixed Media) en la Universidad de Westminster en Londres, durante el cual se concentró principalmente en fotografía, pintura y grabado.

Tras su graduación en 1997 se trasladó a Sevilla donde actualmente vive y trabaja. Aunque siempre tuvo interés en la acuarela, solo a partir de 2015 empezó a concentrar sus actividades artísticas principalmente en esta técnica. Desde entonces ha tenido varias exposiciones individuales y ha participado en decenas de exposiciones colectivas y selecciones en nivel nacional e internacional en Russia, Francia, Polonia, Singapur, Malasia, Indonesia, Colombia, Ucrania, Japon, Eslovenia, Australia, Chile, Vietnam, Mexico, Italia y Turquia. En 2021 fue el ganador del primer premio en el concurso “Entre Grises” de Winsor & Newton en nivel de Península Ibérica. También fue concedido el tercer premio  en el concurso Mini Acuarela Kiev 21 en Ucrania, fue premiado con una mención de honor en el “Golden Brush Watercolour Contest” en Esmirna, Turquia y recientemente recibió el primer precio en el Festival de Acuarela de Santo Domingo, Chile en 2022. Esre mismo año ha representado a España en Fabriano in Acquarello 2022, Italia y ha sido uno de los artistas seleccionas por nominación para la exposición final que se celebró en el Museo de Papel y de Filigrana de la misma ciudad.

Batur Baslar was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1967. After obtaining his music degree from the State Conservatoire of the same city in 1990 he moved to the UK where he studied Fine Arts Mixed Media at the University of Westminster in London, during  which he concentrated mainly on two dimensional media: photography, painting and printmaking in particular.

After receiving his BA (hons) in 1997 he moved to Spain. Even though he was always interested in watercolour painting, only in 2015 he started too centre most of his art work around this medium and since than he has had various solo exhibitions in Spain and participated in numerous national and international juried exhibitions in countries including Russia, France, Poland, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Colombia, Ukraine, Japan, Slovenia, Australia, Chile, Vietnam, Mexico, Italy and Turkey. In 2021 he was awarded the first prize in Windsor & Newton Iberia online watercolour competition, «Entre Grises». He has also been awarded the third prize in international Kiev Watercolour Miniature competition, Ukraine, Honourable mention in “Golden Brush Watercolour Contest” in Izmir, Turkey and 1^st prize in Santo Domingo Watercolour Festival, Chile. He is representing Spain in Fabriano in Acquarello 2022, Italy and has been one of the selected artists for the final prize exhibition that took place in the renowned Paper and Watermark Museum of the same city.
