María Concepción Ororbia Liberal, natural de Artajona, ( Navarra) , y residente en Bilbao,. Profesora de Educación General Básica, se inició en la pintura al óleo a la temprana edad de diez años. Es al trasladarse a vivir a Bilbao cuando se centra en la pintura desarrollando un estilo expresionista bajo la dirección de grandes maestros , con los que adquiere el conocimiento y manejo del color, sus matices y texturas.
Define su estilo entre la figuración y el expresionismo con toques surrealistas en la última etapa.
Su pintura está basada en veladuras, empastes, grafismos y estudio de color con la finalidad de emocionar al espectador jugando con el cromatismo en un campo que va desde la figuración al expresionismo.
El descubrimiento de la acuarela en el año 2012 ha resultado decisivo a la hora de expresar e interpretar un mundo imaginario e inclusos escenas cotidianas de una manera libre y espontánea; unas veces con dibujo previo, grafismos, estudio de color y similares con objeto de sintetizar al máximo, otras enfrentándome al papel en blanco y dando rienda suelta al pincel, a los pigmentos, a las tintas, al spray, a los polvos de mármol y demás materiales, dejándome sorprender por las sensaciones únicas que constituyen parte del aprendizaje e investigación de esta técnica tan compleja como apasionada. Para mí, es ahí donde radica la magia de la acuarela, con la cual, una vez se inicia, uno no puede separarse.
Desde 2012 forma parte de la Asociación de Acuarelistas Vascos. Desde 2019 en la junta directiva.
Desde 2015 al 2017 formó parte de la colección ABARCLAS (Abartium)
Desde 2016 obra permanente en la galería neoyorkina “MAHLSTEDT GALLERY”.
Ha colaborado con algunas de sus obras en portada de libros de poesía, cuyo títulos son “El cuaderno de Montparnasse” y “La dádiva de los extraños” de Isabel Blanco, en Noches Poéticas de Bilbao con «Cadáver Esqueleto», y en de “En defensa propia”, de Guillermo de Jorge. Portada del libro de poemas «Cierzo en la Chofeta» de Ángel Andueza .

María Concepción Ororbia Liberal, born in Artajona, (Navarra), and resident in Bilbao. A teacher of Basic General Education, she began oil painting at the early age of ten. It was when she moved to live in Bilbao that she focused on painting, developing an expressionist style under the guidance of great masters, with whom she acquired the knowledge and handling of colour, its nuances and textures.
He defines his style between figuration and expressionism with surrealist touches in the last stage.
His painting is based on glazes, impastos, graphics and the study of colour with the aim of moving the spectator by playing with chromatism in a field that ranges from figuration to expressionism.
The discovery of watercolour in 2012 has been decisive in expressing and interpreting an imaginary world and even everyday scenes in a free and spontaneous way; Sometimes with previous drawings, graphics, colour studies and the like in order to synthesise as much as possible, other times facing the blank paper and giving free rein to the brush, pigments, inks, sprays, marble powders and other materials, letting myself be surprised by the unique sensations that are part of the learning and research of this technique as complex as it is passionate. For me, this is where the magic of watercolour lies, with which, once you start, you can’t separate yourself from it.
He has been a member of the Association of Basque Watercolourists since 2012. Since 2019 on the board of directors.
From 2015 to 2017 he was part of the ABARCLAS collection (Abartium).

María Concepción Ororbia Liberal, born in Artajona, (Navarra), and resident in Bilbao. A teacher of Basic General Education, she began oil painting at the early age of ten. It was when she moved to live in Bilbao that she focused on painting, developing an expressionist style under the guidance of great masters, with whom she acquired the knowledge and handling of colour, its nuances and textures.
He defines his style between figuration and expressionism with surrealist touches in the last stage.
His painting is based on glazes, impastos, graphics and the study of colour with the aim of moving the spectator by playing with chromatism in a field that ranges from figuration to expressionism.
The discovery of watercolour in 2012 has been decisive in expressing and interpreting an imaginary world and even everyday scenes in a free and spontaneous way; Sometimes with previous drawings, graphics, colour studies and the like in order to synthesise as much as possible, other times facing the blank paper and giving free rein to the brush, pigments, inks, sprays, marble powders and other materials, letting myself be surprised by the unique sensations that are part of the learning and research of this technique as complex as it is passionate. For me, this is where the magic of watercolour lies, with which, once you start, you can’t separate yourself from it.
He has been a member of the Association of Basque Watercolourists since 2012. Since 2019 on the board of directors.
From 2015 to 2017 he was part of the ABARCLAS collection (Abartium).
Since 2016 permanent work in the New York gallery «MAHLSTEDT GALLERY».
He has collaborated with some of his work on the covers of poetry books, including «El cuaderno de Montparnasse» and «La dádiva de los extraños» by Isabel Blanco, in Noches Poéticas de Bilbao with «Cadáver Esqueleto», and in «En defensa propia», by Guillermo de Jorge. Cover of the book of poems «Cierzo en la Chofeta» by Ángel Andueza.
