Planos sensoriales
La ventana, elemento arquitectónico y nexo visual con el mundo exterior. Distancias y perspectivas interiorizadas. Desde los planos arquitectónicos de distribución doméstica de una casa, se deriva a una especie de metamorfosis del recuerdo de estos lugares contenedores de acciones y recuerdos familiares. Esta acción se ve reflejada en la parte compositiva de mi propuesta. Elementos tridimensionales residuales de nuestras vivencias y la humanización del espacio.
Figuras geométricas como el triángulo relacionada a la espiritualidad, el cuadrado o su derivado, apela a la conciencia y procesos mentales.
La presencia de dibujos lineales (retratos), evidencia el diálogo y correspondencia entre un pasado y presente, la dualidad de la luz y oscuridad, lo concreto y efímero. Esta dualidad se mantiene presente desde los inicios de la humanidad y la inquietud por entender el origen de la vida y la razón de esta.
Los cercos volumétricos pretenden generar diversas lecturas estéticas con respecto a la dirección de la luz y relacionar un paralelo con la idea de la diversidad de realidades dependiendo de cada sujeto.
Los recuerdos, proceso mental que está condicionado a la natural selección individual y su importancia personal. De allí que se planteen planos fragmentados de rostros.

Miguel Collantes y los colores de la nostalgia
Miguel Collantes Depaz (Perú 1966 ) es uno de los mejores artistas plásticos actuales; un claro ejemplo es su obra “La pescadilla que se muerde la cola”. Todo un canto a la nostalgia, a las puertas que se abren cuando otras se cierran, a las luces y las sombras, al vaivén de los recuerdos que vienen y van como las cortinas cuando sopla el viento. Miguel nos propone un reencuentro con lo que creemos perdido, pero que duerme en el fondo del alma. Y nos abre una pequeña ventana al mundo, a la vida, porque Miguel no sueña bajo el árbol, sino que se adentra en el bosque atravesando esa ventana de sentimientos. En esta obra, Miguel se desnuda y nos abre su vida más profunda, compartiendo con nosotros su música interior.

Una magnífica escritora como Samar Yazbek ha expresado que el silencio, aunque con cierta ambigüedad, crea a menudo el espacio propicio para que aflore el significado.
Tal apreciación es válida para la obra del peruano COLLANTES, así como el hecho de que sus valores formales sean fruto de una voluntad poderosa para reinventarse en lo que tiene de más propio: su creación.
Encaja sus silencios con su carga de ambigüedad en los contenidos de unas realizaciones que cuanto más se desajusten más vivas están, más potencia visual adquieren. Que sea éste su sino es lo fundamental.

En la obra de Miguel Collantes Depaz, no nos sorprende ver, entre un aparente desorden de meditadas pinceladas cromáticas, un fiel dibujo que va ordenándolo todo y que se ha convertido en el eje y la fortaleza plástica de sus pinturas. Es que la trayectoria de este pintor peruano no sólo ha sido continua sino que se ha sostenido en una permanente práctica del dibujo.
Proceso que naturalmente le ha llevado a tomar conciencia de que un buen dibujo, muchas veces difuminado en la bruma del color, asegura el éxito de todo planteamiento pictórico figurativo.
La pintura de Miguel Collantes Depaz está presidida por un silencio, un vacío sonoro, una soledad atmosférica. Un nocturno color violáceo nos viste el alma de una lejana tristeza, aunque los cálidos matices que se funden con el cielo son las luces seductoras, la alegría discreta de una hora imprecisa.
Lienzos con interpretaciones libres forjados ante el modelo real pero resueltos casi al margen de él, dan ya los augurios de que estamos ante una pintura sobria que está próxima al concepto cromático, a la alegoría que celebra el color, al natural descubrimiento de una abstracción que tiene su origen en las cosas comunes.
La fuerza estructural en su composición, el dibujo espontáneo y libérrimo untado por una vivificante armonía colorística más los ritmos febriles del pincel sustentados en un sólido oficio, esbozan ya la magnitud de una obra en plena madurez que se llena de puro color humano con el paso del tiempo.

Sensorial planes
The window, architectural element and visual link with the outside world. Distances and interiorised perspectives. From the architectural plans of the domestic distribution of a house, a kind of metamorphosis of the memory of these places, containers of actions and family memories, is derived. This action is reflected in the compositional part of my proposal. Residual three-dimensional elements of our experiences and the humanisation of space.
Geometric figures such as the triangle related to spirituality, the square or its derivative, appeals to consciousness and mental processes.
The presence of line drawings (portraits), evidences the dialogue and correspondence between past and present, the duality of light and darkness, the concrete and the ephemeral. This duality has been present since the beginnings of humanity and the concern to understand the origin of life and the reason for it.
The volumetric fences aim to generate diverse aesthetic readings with respect to the direction of light and to relate a parallel with the idea of the diversity of realities depending on each subject.
The memories, a mental process that is conditioned to the natural individual selection and its personal importance. Hence the fragmented shots of faces.

Miguel Collantes and the colours of nostalgia
Miguel Collantes Depaz (Peru 1966) is one of the best current plastic artists; a clear example is his work «La pescadilla que se muerde la cola» («The whale that bites its own tail»). It is an ode to nostalgia, to the doors that open when others close, to the lights and shadows, to the swaying of memories that come and go like curtains when the wind blows. Miguel proposes a reunion with what we think we have lost, but which sleeps in the depths of our soul. And he opens a small window to the world, to life, because Miguel does not dream under the tree, but he enters the forest through that window of feelings. In this work, Miguel undresses himself and opens his deepest life to us, sharing with us his inner music.

Such an appreciation is valid for the work of the Peruvian COLLANTES, as well as the fact that his formal values are the result of a powerful will to reinvent himself in what he has of his own: his creation.
He fits his silences with their charge of ambiguity into the contents of some productions which, the more they are misaligned, the more alive they are, the more visual power they acquire. That this is his fate is the fundamental thing.

Miguel Collantes Depaz
In the work of Miguel Collantes Depaz, we are not surprised to see, among an apparent disorder of meditated chromatic brushstrokes, a faithful drawing that brings order to everything and that has become the axis and the plastic strength of his paintings. The fact is that the career of this Peruvian painter has not only been continuous but has been sustained by a permanent practice of drawing.
This process has naturally led him to become aware that a good drawing, often blurred in the mist of colour, ensures the success of any figurative pictorial approach.
Miguel Collantes Depaz’s painting is dominated by a silence, a sonorous emptiness, an atmospheric solitude. A nocturnal violet colour dresses our soul with a distant sadness, although the warm shades that merge with the sky are the seductive lights, the discreet joy of an imprecise hour.
Canvases with free interpretations forged in front of the real model but resolved almost apart from it, already give us the signs that we are before a sober painting that is close to the chromatic concept, to the allegory that celebrates colour, to the natural discovery of an abstraction that has its origin in common things.
The structural strength in its composition, the spontaneous and free drawing smeared by a vivifying colour harmony plus the feverish rhythms of the brush sustained by a solid craft, already outline the magnitude of a work in full maturity that fills with pure human colour with the passing of time.
